Bollywood actors Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol graced the latest episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show. The brothers, who had a successful 2023, reminisced about their debut in the film industry. Sunny mentioned that he was born ready and never felt nervous, despite his father Dharmendra being a legend. Bobby echoed similar sentiments, stating that he never felt burdened by the legacy of his father and brother.

When host Kapil Sharma asked Sunny about his debut film, the Gadar actor said, “When there was the muhurat of my first film Betaab, the entire industry was there. The stage was packed. I was given dialogues and I delivered them straight away. I was not nervous at all.”

Kapil joked and asked Bobby if his first director was nervous to work with him given Sunny and Dharmendra’s stardom. The actor laughed and said, “Maybe that’s why Shekhar Kapur ran away, he was scared. Raj (Rajkumar Santoshi) directed me later. But I never thought that I was under pressure. Papa means everything to me. He is a legend. Bhaiya is a superstar.”

Bobby Deol’s Bollywood debut with Barsaat faced numerous hurdles before its 1995 release. Bobby had previously revealed that Shekhar left the project for Bandit Queen after 27 days of shooting. Subsequently, filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi took over.

Bobby then talked about how 2023 has been a great year for the Deols. He said, “But today, I am happy about the fact that bhaiya waited 22 years after Gadar and in the same year, first papa’s film released and the role he played, if anyone else had played that role, it wouldn’t have been as much fun. And then my film was released, that was also a big hit. I am happy about the fact that whenever I see my father, I see happiness in his eyes. When I went home after a week, papa was always on Instagram. He said, ‘Bob, people are crazy about you.’” I said, ‘Papa, I am your son, why wouldn’t they be crazy about me?’”
