BIshkek July 5, 2018 / Kabar/. Summer courses for students from the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states and observer countries opened in the East China Normal University (ECNU) in Shanghai.
This year 36 students from Belarus, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan will take part in the internship program.
Summer camps for students are annually organized by the Education Committee of the Government of Shanghai in conjunction with ECNU and are implemented by the Center for International Education of ECNU together with the Institute of International Relations and Regional Development, as well as the Institute for the Study of the SCO, Tass reports.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, deputy chairman of the Chinese People's Association for Peace and Disarmament, former deputy head of the international relations department of the CPC Central Committee, famous Chinese diplomat Zhou Li drew attention to the fact that Shanghai, as the second largest city of central subordination in China, is also the center of international economy, finance, trade, shipping and scientific and technical innovations.
"I would like to emphasize that Shanghai has a connection with the SCO, which we created and constantly develop, and it was here that the SCO was successfully held," said Zhou Li.
He called young people, who came to participate in the summer camp, the hope for the future development of the SCO, wished them success in their studies for the benefit of strengthening mutual understanding and friendship.
